Ok I agree, I’m a ‘corn’ artist ! 3 facts I thought I should share with you about corn. Whoever told you corn is not healthy, might be a con artist !😀
1. A one plain ear of corn has about 100 calories, similar to an apple. And with nearly 3 grams of fiber per serving, corn can help you feel full for a much longer, so you're less likely to overeat and snack untimely. Also, the starch, a slow-to-digest type of carb is known to help with weight control.
2. Even though corn is sweet—but there are only 6 grams of natural sugar in a medium-size ear of corn which is less than half the sugar of a banana and one-third the sugar of an apple. Even beetroots have more sugar than corn.
3. Cooking sweet corn actually boosts its benefits. Researchers found that while sweet corn loses vitamin C during cooking, its antioxidant activity increases. Taking in antioxidants can help lower your risk of heart disease as well as Alzheimer's disease, cataracts and other aging issues including fighting cancer.
