Lets sit across the table and talk (when this is over)

Let’s sit across the table & talk (when this is over)
Over the last few days, reading so many comments and messages from people from various countries and including our neighbor Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh..to name the few. Here’s the question that comes to my mind-  Why were we fighting all these years. A Corona pandemic and food (neither movies nor sports could do this) has brought all of us together to save humanity; to save the world. The oil crashed; many economies and lives too; do the earlier border disputes or ideological differences in the new world, even matter?
So much love & appreciation,  I have received over a simple oven-free bread, a leftover rice patty , a chocolate dessert and a roti pizza recipe; just tells me that we are all so simple uncomplicated ‘same’ in every possible way. And that when it came to our existence- we didn’t  care anymore about our disputes; we came out to help each other in whatever little way we could.
Isn’t this the new norm? Isn’t this the world we all wanted; a place where we all co-exist; forget the past acts (right or wrong) our great leaders did; we see beyond that.
Do these differences even matter in this new world? Look around, we are no more running after each others blood; rather we have locked ourselves and monitoring the covid numbers all around 180+ countries. We are learning from each other - cooking, exercising, photoshop, video shooting, live concerts; showing our trueselves in absence of beauty salons 😀.
This is the new world the one that is likely to stay this way for some time. Protecting borders matters when you have something to offer but when the world is struggling to survive; these decades old issues become less significant.
We the people now hold the power to decide which way the world will go; we showed that we can see past religious/social/political differences and focus on making this a better place to live. We are actually doing this over many weeks now.
.What powerful influential people could not do over years; we the common people - the influencers- have shown how to take world forward. And we just need to sit across the table & talk.
