Buddha Bowl for Children’s’ Day

Buddha Bowl for Children’s’ Day
Let’s learn from Gautam Buddha – Sharing below the famous Asian Recipe which I had in Philippines few years ago- Buddha Bowl.
The name Buddha originates from presenting a balanced meal, where balance is a key Buddhist concept. There is this story of Buddha carrying his food bowl to fill it with whatever bits of vegetarian food villagers would offer him.
Another popular belief is that the name Buddha Bowl, comes from the overstuffed bowl resembling the belly of Budai, a 10th-century Chinese monk often confused with Buddha.
So, Buddha bowl is basically a vegetarian meal, served on a single bowl or high-rimmed plate, which consists of small portions of several foods, served at room temperature. These may include whole grains such as quinoa or brown rice, and the plant proteins such as chickpeas or tofu, and different colorful vegetables. The portions are not mixed on the plate or in the bowl, but arranged in an “artful” ways.
Our children are our future, and so teaching them the importance of eating healthy food from early years is our responsibility; not saying no for pizza or burgers; rather asking to make eating vegetables in all forms as much as possible. And that’s how you make this a Happy Children’s Day ! Imagine a 90:10 ratio so 90% of the time kids eat veggies and as a result 10% of time enjoy all those favourite pizza, pasta and burgers.. even there also insist for including veggies making it a 100% happy equation.
