Bajre Ke Chamchamiya / Bajra ka Pancake

 Winter is the best time to have Bajra flour. This is Bajra Ka Chamchamiya.. you can call it pancake if you want. Absolutely yum.

Preparation Method of Bajra ka Pancake


My Secrets

  • 1 cup bajri (pearl millet) atta.
  • 2 tbs finely chopped coriander.
  • 2 tbs finely chopped fresh garlic + 2 garlic cloves.
  • Some finely chopped fresh methi.
  • A small piece of ginger.
  • Green chilli/ chilli powder (as per taste).
  • Some white sesame seeds (til).
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain/ cumin seeds.
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi) powder.
  • Salt as per taste
    1/2 cup curd (dahi). 
  • Approx 3/4 cup water.
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    Oil for frying.


How to Make?

  • Take a mixing bowl, add 1 cup bajri (pearl millet) atta.
  • Add 2 tbs finely chopped coriander.
  • Add 2 tbs finely chopped fresh garlic.
  • Add some finely chopped fresh & rinsed methi (optional).
  • Add freshly crushed (small piece of ginger, 2 cloves garlic & green chilli/ chilli powder as per taste).
  • Add some white sesame seeds (til).
  • Add 1/2 tsp ajwain/ cumin seeds (crush with hands).
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi) powder.
  • Add salt as per taste and mix it well.
  • Then add 1/2 cup curd (dahi). 
  • Add approx 3/4 cup water as required, mix it and bring the batter to dosa consistency.
  • Add 1/2 tsp baking soda (to make it softer).
  • Further heat up the pan, pour some oil/ ghee and sprinkle some white sesame seeds in oil.
  • Pour 2 spoon batter to make small pancakes.
  • Sprinkle some more white sesame seeds on top of each pancake.
  • Cook it on medium flame for 5-7 mins then flip once the it turns golden-brown and cook for another 5-7 mins.
    (Make more pancakes with the same procedure).
  • Serve these Delicious & Healthy Bajre Ke Chamchamiya (Pancakes) with green chutney!!!
