Homemade Garlic Naan Recipe

Garlic naan is a flat Indian bread topped with garlic and coriander. You will find these naans being served in almost every restaurant in India and are baked in Tandoor. But don’t worry it’s not that much harder to make one for yourself at home without the tandoor. Making Garlic naan recipe at home doesn’t need some special equipment, you just need your hands. The best part about this recipe is that it is easy to make and can be served alongside any of your favorite Indian recipes. As naan is a north Indian bread it will go best when served hot with some north Indian curry recipes like Dal Makhani, Aloo matar, Punjabi palak paneer recipe,Paneer butter masala recipe and many more. Ingredients

2 cup Maida (Plain Flour)
1 tsp Baking Soda
Salt per taste
1/4th cup dahin (Curd)
150 ml water
1.5 tsp oil
For nan - finely chopped garlic, coriander leaves and kalonji (nigella seeds)

Method

You can make Garlic Naan at home in quick time, and don't even need yeast or oven or tandoor.

Method:
In a bowl, take 2 cup plain flour
Add 1 tsp baking soda
Add some salt
Add 1/4th cup curd (dahin)
Gently mix with hands
Slowly add 150 ml water
and keep mixing with hands to bind the dough
As dough binds up, add 1.5 tsp oil
Again mix the dough
Cover the dough and leave it aside for half an hour
Now make small balls to make nan
Flatten the dough balls and garnish with garlic, coriander and nigella seeds
Keep flattening the nan dough with hands
Apply some water on the backside of nan so that it sticks on the pan
Let it cook for some time on the pan
Now flip the pan and place it upside down
This way you will get a charred effect.
Your Garlic naan is ready, apply some butter on top, and enjoy with Chole or any other Punjabi sabzi of your choice.
