How to make Instant Rava Uttapam?

Ingredients

Secrets of Rava Uttapam

  • 1.5 cup semolina.
  • 1/4th cup wheat flour.
  • 2.5 tsp sugar.
  • 3/4th tsp yeast.
  • 1/5 cup lukewrm water.
  • 2 tbs water.
  • 1-2 finely chopped green chillies.
  • Cumin Seeds.
  • Oil.
  • Sambhar Powder or Rassam Powder or Red Chilli Powder.

How to Make Rava Uttapam?

  • In a mixie, take 1.5 cup semolina.
  • Add 1/4th cup wheat flour
    (Alternative Besan or Maida).
  • Add 2.5 tsp sugar.
  • Add 1/2 tsp + 1/4th tsp yeast.
  • Add 1 cup lukewarm water.
  • Do not add salt.
  • Churn in mixie.
  • Add 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
  • Churn again.
  • Take out batter.
  • Give it rest for 30 min.
  • Batter will get fermented and rise.
  • Add 2 tbs water.
  • Instead of yeast you can use fruit salt but fruit salt batter has to be used immeditely.
  • Batter with yiest will stay fermented for several hours.
  • Add some salt to batter.
  • Add some cumin seeds (Jeera).
  • And add 1-2 finely chopped green chilies.
  • Heat up a pan few minutes before cooking.
  • Drizzle few drops of oil or ghee.
  • Wipe it with a tissue.
  • Flame to be kept at medium.
  • pour batter in pan
    you will see air bubbles in the uttapam.
  • Sprinkle Sambhar Powder / Red Chilli Powder / Rasam Powder.
  • Cover and let steam cook it from top for 2 minutes
  • Flip and cook on both sides.
  • Serve Suji Uttapam with Coconut Chutney.
