Khirapat Recipe

On arrival of Shree Ganeshji, this is a unique Bhog made by most Maharashtrian families- Khirapat also known as Saalan. I am sure you will love it as Bappa Loves Khirapat.

How to make Khirapat Recipe?


  • 2 tbs ghee.
  • Chopped dry fruits (6 almonds, 7-8 pistachios, 7-8 cashews & 7-8 raisins).
  • 6-7 dry dates (kharek – remove seeds).
  • 1.5 tbs poppy seeds (khas khas).
  • 1/2 cup dry coconut, grated (remove skin).
  • 3 cardamom (elaichi) powder.
  • Some rock candies (mishri).
  • 1.5 tbs jaggery (gur – finely chopped/ powdered).


How to make?

  • Heat up the pan.
  • Add 2 tbs ghee
  • Fry chopped dry fruits (6 almonds, 7-8 pistachios, 7-8 cashews & 7-8 raisins)
    Transfer in a plate
    Fry 6-7 dry dates (kharek – remove seeds)
    Churn then in mixie to make powder
    Now roast 1.5 tbs poppy seeds (khas khas) in same pan
    Add 1/2 cup dry coconut, grated (remove skin)
    Roast until it’s golden-brown
    Transfer this mixture in a bowl
    Add kharek powder and mix it with hand
    Add 3 cardamom (elaichi) powder
    Add some rock candies (mishri)
    Add 1.5 tbs jaggery (gur – finely chopped/powdered)
    Mix everything well
    Now add dry fruits and again mix it
    Bappa ka Swaadisht Bhog Khirapat is ready!!!
