    Lemon Rice Recipe

    South Special Lemon Rice – just love the tangy flavors and it’s my favorite. You get all those tastes – sour, salt, spice and then crunch of lentils with soft tangy lemon rice.

    Try Gajar Muli Mirch Ka Achar with rice.

    How to make Lemon Rice at home?


    • 2 tbs Oil.
    • Mustard seeds (Rai ke daane).
    • Cumin seeds (jeera).
    • Asafoetida (hing powder).
    • Gingers chopped in Julians shape.
    • Urad dal row.
    • Chana dal row.
    • Peanuts row.
    • Cashews chopped (optional)
    • Fresh curry leaves (kadi Patta).
    • Dry Red chilli (sabud lal Mirch)
    • Green chillies chopped.
    • 1 tsp Turmeric. powder (Haldi).
    • Salt.
    • Fresh coriander leaves chopped.
    • 1 cup cooked rice.
    • 1 Lemon juice. 


    • Heat up the pan.
    • Take 2 tbs oil
    • Add mustard seeds and some cumin seeds.
    • Add some asafoetida.
    • Add ginger julians
    • Add row urad dal & chana dal.
    • Now cook till you gt nice red colour of dal (lentils).
    • You will be hearing crackling sound that means dal is fried.
    • Time to add row peanuts.
    • Let it also get fried in the oil.
    • Add some cashews – chopped – I love them in Lemon Rice
      let it cook for some time.
    • Now add some fresh green curry leaves (kadi patta).
    • Break and add dry red chilli.
    • Add some green chilli chopped.
    • Mix everything and let it fry.
    • Add Turmeric powder and salt.
    • Add some coriander leaves for now (leave some for garnishing).
    • Add 1 cup pre-cooked rice & mix well.
    • Add 1  lemon juice & add final left coriander leaves.
    • Lemon rice is ready to be served.
