Moong Dal Payasam Recipe

Ingredients

100 g moong dal
200 g jeggery  ( gud)
200 ml water
100 ml coconut milk  ( optional )
4-5 cardamom powder
some cashew Nuts
almond  (optional )
2 tbs. dry coconut  ( chopped or shredded)
2 tbs ghee or virgin coconut oil

Method

In a pan, add 1 tsp vargin coconut oil and roast the moong dal till it becomes light red in color
now shift the dal in to the pressure cooker.
In the same pan, add some more virgin coconut oil and roast coconut till it changes color
Add dry fruits & roast.
Keep it aside
Add water in to the dal and pressure cook it till dal becomes very soft.
In other pot, add few of spoons of water and jaggery.
Cook till jaggery gets dissolved.
Add jaggery water into the cooked dal and mix them well.  
At this time, u may add coconut milk into that. ( I haven't added coconut milk as such )
Now add cardamom powder, roasted coconut and nuts.
Mix them well.
Cook for 5 minutes.
Payasam is ready.
Garnish it with some nuts and dry coconut on top.
