Description
One of my secret recipes, Gluten-Free Moong Oats Thepla. Yes am Gujarati, and I always find recipes that connect me to my home in Gujarat. High in Protein, club it with curd and you got your-self a winner recipe.
Ingredient
1 cup Rolled Oats (mildly roasted & powdered)
1/2 cup Moong (soaked in water for 4 hours)
1 finely chopped small Ginger Knob
3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves
Finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
1 teaspoon chopped Onion
1/2 tablespoon Turmeric Powder
Salt as per taste
1/2 teaspoon White Sesame Seeds
1/2 teaspoon Ajwain
Some finely chopped Carrot (optional)
Handful of finely chopped Coriander (alternatively Palak/Methi can be used)
Oil (for roasting)
Instructions
Method
Grind 1 cup Rolled Oats in a mixer jar (mildly roast & grind), keep aside
Further in a mixer jar take 1/2 cup Moong (soaked in water for 4 hours)
Add 1 finely chopped small Ginger Knob
Add 2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves
Add finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
Add 1 spoon chopped Onion
Churn in mixie without adding any water
Transfer this mixture in a bowl
Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Add Salt as per taste
Add 1/2 tsp White Sesame Seeds
Add some Ajwain (crush with hands)
Add some finely chopped Carrot (optional)
Add handful of finely chopped Coriander
Add powdered Oats
Knead a soft dough combining everything together
Roll out few balls from the dough prepared
Apply some Oil on rolling board
Take a dough ball
Roll it nice with hands and then with rolling pin
(You can place a wet cloth or polythene on rolling board to avoid sticking the dough)
Heat up cast iron pan
Place thepla on it
Drizzle some Oil and flip
Cook both the sides well till golden-brown
(Make more theplas with the same procedure)
