MUTTER PANEER – Restaurant Style Home-made with multipurpose gravy, you can use is with other combinations like only paneer or potato or any other mixed vegetables.

  • 2 tsp oil.
  • 2 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds).
  • 150 gm Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – cubes.
  • 1.1/2 cup Mutter.
  • 1 Chopped Onion.
  • 1.1/2 Diced Tomato.
  • 1 tbs Cashews.
  • Salt per taste.
  • 2 tsp Chilli powder (Kashmiri Chilli powder will give nice color).
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • 1.1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste.
  • 1.1/2 tsp Garam Masala.
  • Some green onions.
  • Some Kasuri Methi.


  • Take 2 tsp oil in a pan.
  • Add Jeera (Cumin Seeds).
  • Once Jeera starts getting brown & you get the aroma,
    it means jeera is almost cooked.
  • It’s time to add chopped onion & saute them.
  • This is a one-pot recipe.
  • We will cook everything in the same pan.
  • Add some salt per taste.
  • Let onion cook for 5 minutes, till they are soft Now add 1.5 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste Mix it well.
    let it cook 5 minutes, so everything is properly cooked
  • Add 1.5 tomato diced.
  • Add 1 tbs cashews, to make thick gravy.
  • Mix it well.
  • Add 1/2 tsp Garam Masala now.
  • Add some red chilli powder.
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
  • Let it cook till tomatoes get mushy & cashews become tender.
  • Time to take it out into a bowl to cool down.
  • And crush the same in a mixie to make gravy, we will use later.
  • Now in the same pot, we will saute mutter & paneer.
  • Take 1 tsp oil in the pan.
  • Add some Jeera.
  • Once Jeera crackles, add 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • Mix it well.
  • Add 1.1/2 cup Mutter.
  • Add some onion greens.
  • You may use regular onion as well instead of green onions.
  • Add some salt per taste.
  • Add some chilli powder per taste.
  • Add 1/2 cup water so that mutter soften up.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for a while.
  • Let it cook till mutters get soft.
  • I am using normal soft Malai Paneer (Cottage Cheese).
  • Frying Paneer is optional.
  • Now add the gravy we made earlier.
  • Feel free to add water as per the consistency you want.
  • Add some Kasuri Methi- crushed in palms- & sprinkle on top.
  • Let it cook for a while.
  • Time to serve Mutter Paneer with Roti, Paratha or Bread.
  • You can use this gravy for various other vegetables.
  • You may drizzle some cream on top while serving.
