No Fry Bread Kachori Chaat

Yes we all love fried kachori, but if you are having a Kachori Chaat then you don’t really need to Fry the kachori. You can make this No Fry Version of Bread Kachori Chaat. Plus Moong Daal in stuffing, so additional protein intake too.

IF WANT TO BAKE IN OVEN – 200 degree temperature, brush oil on all sides and bake till get nice golden color.

CAN MAKE IN APPE PAN TOO – Though size of Kachori will be smaller.

How to make No Fry Bread Kachori Chaat ?

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup moong dal.
  • 1 tsp + 2 tbs oil.
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera).
  • 1 small sized finely chopped onion (optional).
  • Salt as per taste.
  • 1 tsp dhaniya-jeera powder.
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Pinch of asafoetida powder (hing).
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds (bhuna hua jeera) powder.
  • Anardana powder (for tartness).
  • 1 tsp roasted crushed coriander seeds (sabut dhaniya).
  • Some finely chopped coriander.
  • 5-6 bread slices (remove corners).
  • Some beaten curd.
  • Some gud – imli chutney.
  • Some dhaniya – pudina chutney.

For garnishing : some sev, pomegranate seeds, coriander leaves & red chilli powder.

Method

How to make ?

  • First let’s cook moong dal for stuffing.
  • Soak 1/2 cup moong dal in warm water for 3-4 hours.
  • Cook this dal in a vessel along with water
    (do not overcook).
  • Turn off the heat and transfer cooked dal in a seiver
    to drain water.
  • To make stuffing, heat up the pan.
  • Add 1 tsp oil.
  • Add 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera).
  • Add 1 small sized finely chopped onion (optional).
  • Add salt as per taste and saute.
  • Now add 1 tsp dhaniya-jeera powder.
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida powder (hing).
  • Add 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • Add 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds (bhuna hua jeera) powder.
  • Add some anardana powder (for tartness).
  • Add 1 tsp roasted crushed coriander seeds (sabut dhaniya).
  • Further add cooked moong dal and mix it well.
  • Add some finely chopped coriander and turn off the heat
    (If you wish to, you can also add garam masala, sugar and also besan sev in this stuffing).
  • To make Kachori, take 5-6 bread slices (remove corners & preferably use fresh bread).
  • Brush some water on bread slice.
  • Add stuffing in the middle.
  • Bring together all the corners gently to wrap it.
  • Apply some water on hands to stick bread.
  • Try giving it a round shape
    (make more Kachoris with the same procedure).
  • Further to fry Kachoris.
  • Heat up the pan.
  • Add 2 tbs oil.
  • Place all kachoris on it (keep folded side down).
  • Cook it on a medium heat.
  • Keep rotating until all the sides turn golden-brown
    (you can also deep fry or bake Kachoris in oven).
  • Take them on a serving plate.
  • Break in the middle.
  • Pour some beaten curd.
  • Pour some gud – imli chutney.
  • Pour some dhaniya – pudina chutney.
  • Top with some sev, pomegranate seeds & coriander leaves.
  • Sprinkle some red chilli powder.
  • Here’s your Appetizing Bread Kachori Chaat ready!!!
