Oats Khichdi with Dahi Tadka Recipe

Amongst all the Pasta, Pizzas and all those fancy recipes, eventually, it’s the Khichdi that really satisfies the hunger. Sharing yet another version and very differently textured Oats Khichdi, paired with Tadka Dahi. You’re in for a deliciously pleasant surprise.

How to make Oats Khichdi with Dahi Tadka?

Ingredients

  • Some oil/ ghee.
  • Some cumin seeds(jeera).
  • Pinch of asafoetida powder (hing).
  • Some peanuts.
  • 4 finely chopped garlic cloves.
  • 1 finely chopped onion.
  • 1 small sized finely chopped tomato.
  • 1/4 cup veggies (some finely chopped cauliflower, carrot, brinjal and French beans).
  • Some green peas.
  • Some turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Red chilli powder (as per taste).
  • Salt as per taste.
  • 1 cup yellow lentils (moong dal – soaked in water for 2-3 hours).
  • 1.5 cup instant oats (or any oats).
  • 1.5 cup water.
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder.
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder.
  • Some finely chopped coriander leaves and spring onion.
  • 1 bowl curd.

Method

How to make ?

  • Heat up the pressure cooker.
  • Add some oil/ ghee.
  • Add some cumin seeds(jeera).
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida powder (hing).
  • Add some peanuts.
  • Add 4 finely chopped garlic cloves.
  • Add 1 finely chopped onion.
  • Add 1 small sized finely chopped tomato.
  • Add 1/4 cup veggies (some finely chopped cauliflower, carrot, brinjal and French beans).
  • Add some green peas.
  • Add some turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Add red chilli powder (as per taste).
  • Add salt as per taste and mix it.
  • Add 1 cup yellow lentils (moong dal – soaked in water for 2-3 hours).
  • Add 1.5 cup instant oats (or any oats) and mix it well.
  • Add 1.5 cup water, again mix it.
  • Fix the lid and cook up to 1 whistle on medium to high flame.
  • Further to make tadka dahi, heat up the pan.
  • Add some oil /ghee.
  • Add some cumin seeds (jeera).
  • Add 1/2 tsp coriander powder.
  • Add 1/2 tsp red chilli powder.
  • Add salt as per taste.
  • Add some coriander leaves.
  • And pour this tadka on a bowl of curd (dahi).
  • Take khichdi in a serving bowl and top with some coriander leaves and spring onion.
  • Serve this Healthy & Delicious Oats ki Khichdi with Tadka Dahi to taste it Yummm!!!
