How to make Oats Palak Muthiya Recipe

One more recipe using oats.. palak and just a tbs of oil. Nutritions raining this month on Meghna’s Food Magic.

Ingredients

  • 1 small bunch of finely chopped spinach(palak).
  • 1 cup shredded carrot.
  • Some finely chopped garlic.
  • Some shredded ginger.
  • Some finely chopped green chillies.
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala.
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • Some sugar(optional).
  • 2 tbs curd.
  • 1/2 lime juice.
  • 1/2 cup plain oats.
  • 1 cup wheat flour.
  • 2 tbs gram flour(besan).
  • 1 tbs oil.
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (rai).
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds(til).
  • A pinch of asafoetida
    powder(optional).
  • Some curry leaves.

Methods

  • Take a mixing bowl, add 1 small bunch of finely  chopped spinach(palak).
  • Add 1 cup shredded carrot
    (cabbage/bottle goard – optional).
  • Add some finely chopped garlic.
  • Add some shredded ginger
  • Add some finely chopped green chillies.
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
  • Add 1/2 tsp garam masala
    (coriander powder – optional).
  • Add 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • Add salt as per taste.
  • Add some sugar(optional
    – to make it sweet n sour).
  • Add 2 tbs curd.
  • Add 1/2 lime juice.
  • Add 1/2 cup plain oats.
  • Add 1 cup wheat flour.
  • Add 2 tbs gram flour(besan).
  • Mix it well dry with your hand
    so that you know the consistency of the mixture (add 2-3 tsp/more water if the mixture  becomes very thick – adding oil in the mixture is optional).
  • Apply some oil on your palms,
    take some mixture and make cylindrical shape rolls.
  • Take a food strainer, brush some oil on it and arrange the rolls on strainer.
  • Now heat up the steamer,  bring some water and place strainer on it.
  • Cover the steamer lid with cloth
    (prevents water running on rolls)
    and cook it for 15-20 mins on high flame. (Now put a knife inside to check if muthia is properly cooked, if the knife comes out clean then it is ready).
  • Turn of the flame, take out of the steamer and rest it for 5 mins.
  • Cut the rolls in pieces, further for tempering heat up the pan, pour 1 tbs oil in it.
  • Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (rai).
  • Add 2 tsp sesame seeds(til).
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida powder(optional).
  • Add some curry leaves
  • Add cut muthia, mix it and cook for 5 mins (not more than that) Garnish with some fresh coriander.
