Poha Chivda Recipe

I remember my mom making these regularly at home and we kids used to eat Poha Ka Chivda in small steel bowls any time of the day. Enjoy anytime quick recipe- Poha Ka Chivda.

How to make Poha Chivda ?


  • Poha.
  • 3 tbs oil.
  • Some mustard seeds (rai).
  • Some curry leaves.
  • Some peanuts (sing).
  • Some daliya/ chane ki dal.
  • Some dry coconut chips.
  • Some half cut cashews.
  • Chopped green chillies (as per taste).
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf).
  • Some white sesame seeds (til).
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Salt as per taste.
  • 1 tsp powder sugar (or as per taste).


How to Make?

  • Heat up the pan, add thin poha and dry roast until it turns slightly golden-brown.
  • Transfer in a bowl.
  • Add approx 3 tbs oil in the same pan.
  • Add some mustard seeds (rai) in heated oil.
  • Add some curry leaves.
  • Add some peanuts (sing).
  • Add some daliya/ chane ki dal.
  • Add some dry coconut chips.
  • Add some half cut cashews and roast it on slow flame until it turns golden-brown.
  • Add chopped green chillies (as per taste).
  • Add 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf).
  • Add white sesame seeds (safed til).
  • Add 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Add salt as per taste.
  • Add 1 tsp powder sugar (or as per taste).
  • Add roasted poha and mix gently.
    (Keep this chivda in air tight container for 15-20 days).
  • Here’s your Super Crunchy Snack Poha ka Chivda ready!!!
