Ragda Patties Recipe

How to make Ragda Patties?

On popular demand, sharing this mother of all street foods – Ragda Patties . Since Ragda and Patties both require oil in cooking; I am opting for Wagga Wagga Heart Care Oil , which I found excellent given it’s healthy, chemical free & pureness properties.

  • 3 mashed boiled potatoes
  • salt as per taste
  • Some finely chopped coriander
  • Some finely chopped green chillies
  • Some finely chopped ginger
  • 2 tsp bread crumbs
  • Oil (Try Wagga Wagga oil for making food healthy)
  • Some ajwain (optional)
  • Some finely chopped
    garlic (optional)
  • Some finely chopped green chillies.
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
  • Boiled white peas
    (1 cup dry peas soaked overnight and boiled)

For serving : –

  • Sweet chutney
  • Green chutney
  • Some finely chopped onions
  • Some sev
    Coriander leaves.


  • Take a mixing bowl,
    add 3 mashed boiled potatoes
    (boil in pressure cooker up to 2 whistles – do not overcook).
  • Add salt as per taste.
  • Add some finely chopped coriander.
  • Add some finely chopped green chillies.
  • Add some finely chopped ginger
  • Add 2 tsp bread crumbs (corn starch 1 tsp – optional)
  • Mix it well,
    apply some oil on palms and make round shape patties from this mixture.
  • Heat up the pan, pour 1 tbs oil in it
    (Try Wagga Wagga oil, it has 80% Canola oil and 20% pure Olive oil,
    it’s a odourless,
    chemical free oil and healthy to use everyday).
  • Put the patties on pan, roast it on both sides till they turn golden brown and crisp then turn off the stove.
  • Now heat up another pan,
    pour 1.5 tsp oil in it.
  • Add some ajwain (optional)
  • Add some finely chopped garlic (optional).
  • Add some finely chopped green chillies.
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Add boiled white peas (soak 1 cup dry peas overnight in luke warm water and boil in the pressure cooker up to 5-6 whistles – to be overcooked)
    (Add turmeric while boiling and a pinch of cooking soda – optional).
  • Add salt as per taste, cook it for sometime and turn off the stove.

For serving :-

  • Now take some ragada in a serving plate/ bowl,
    place patties on it and some more ragada over the patties.
  • Add some sweet chutney (jaggery & tamarind).
  • Add some green chutney (coriander & pudina) (Recipes for these chutneys, available on my channel).
  • Add some finely chopped onions and some sev on it.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves on top.

And then your Tongue Tickling Chaat, Ragada Patties is ready, enjoy warm!!!
