Here I am celebrating #ProteinDay with a new ingredient from my pantry – SATTU, preparing my family’s favorite breakfast recipe which you must try! Wondering what’s SATTU? – It’s an exotic superfood known for its protein value which is about 22.39 gms PROTEIN in 100 gms! And as you may know, how important my family’s nutrition and overall health is for me, I always ensure that they get their right proteins in their daily meals. So, if you’re planning to cook something special today, like I have, don’t forget to add different protein sources like chickpeas, broccoli, soy and many more!

How to make Sattu Poha Pancake Recipe?

Ingredients

Recipe's Secret

  • 1 cup chickpeas (sattu/ chana) flour.
  • 1/2 cup poha (make powder in mixie/ soaked in water).
  • Some turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Some ajwain/ cumin seeds (jeera – optional).
  • Salt as per taste.
  • 1 medium sized finely chopped onion.
  • Small bunch finely chopped coriander.
  • 2-3 finely chopped green chillies.
  • Water
  • Oil (to roast pancakes).

Method

How to Make?

  • Take a mixing bowl add 1 cup chickpeas (sattu/ chana) flour.
  • Add 1/2 cup poha flour (grind in mixie, make fine powder/ soak in water, make paste/ besan is optional).
  • Add some turmeric powder (haldi).
  • Add some ajwain/ cumin seeds – jeera (optional).
  • Add salt as per taste.
  • Add 1 medium sized finely chopped onion.
  • Add a small bunch finely chopped coriander.
  • Add 2-3 finely chopped green chillies and mix it
    (Add veggies as per your choice).
  • Add water/ butter milk/ curd gradually, mix it well and make thick batter (as dosa).
  • Heat up the non stick pan, pour 1 tsp oil and spread it.
  • Now add spoonful of batter in pan, make 2-3 small pancakes at a time
    (Roast it on medium flame for 5-7 mins).
  • Drizzle some oil on pancakes and then flip.
  • Again cook the other side until it turns golden-brown (Make more pancakes with the same procedure & serve it warm with tomato ketchup/ chutney).
  • And then your Protein Packed, Super Healthy Sattu & Poha Pancakes are ready!!!
